Caulk vs Wood Filler

Two of my favorite products EV-ER (said like Squints Paladoris), caulk & wood filler. But what are they, and when should you use them???

Wood Filler 101:

🔨used for wood to wood gaps, holes in wood & the like.

🔨made to be applied, allowed to dry & then sanded.

🔨can be painted and can be stained (it can be tricky to stain match, however).

CAULK 101:

🔨made for gaps in places like trim, around windows or plumbing fixtures.

🔨meant to be applied smoothly & allowed to fully dry. NOT meant to be sanded.

🔨can be painted (with the correct kind), many varieties for multiple uses.

NOW. When to use which?

The easiest way is to remember is this:

🪵 wood to wood & gouges/scratches = wood filler.

🦷 seams & gaps = caulk.

Now go perfect the imperfections my friends!!!
